Darrell Leon Gandy

Darrell Leon Gandy, 66, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Conway Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born June 24, 1959 in Horry County, he was the son of Esther McCrackin Gandy and the late Leon "Junior" Gandy.

Darrell was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a member of Evergreen FWB Church, where he loved serving his Lord and Savior. A trucker at heart, he enjoyed hauling brick for Palmetto Brick for forty-eight years. Darrell was famous for being a jokester and making people laugh. He was a mama's boy, who loved spending time with her and the rest of the family.

Darrell is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Agnes Clara Prevatte Gandy; children, April Christina Gandy and Darrell Leon "DJ" Gandy, Jr.; his mother, Esther McCracken Gandy; sister's, Cynthia Alford (Carey) and JoAnn Barnhill (Norman); a very special grandchild, Kaylynn Funk; many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly; two brother-in-law's, Raymond Prevatte and Dean Prevatte (Lori); sister-in-law, Teresa Norris (Keith); along with many other family and friends who will miss him.

Funeral Services will be held 11am, Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Evergreen FWB Church with Rev. David Stevens and Rev. Billy Poe Jones officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church from 3pm until 8pm, Tuesday, March 31, 2026 and April 1, 2026 beginning at 9:30am at the church prior to the service.
