Mr Darrell Braxton Holmes

Darrell Braxton Holmes, 90, of Graham, NC passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at his residence.
A native of Alamance County, Darrell was the husband of the late Judy Bowman Holmes and the son of A. W. Holmes, Sr. and Annie Mae Cole Holmes, both deceased. As a newlywed, he served in the U.S. Army in Germany. Upon his return, he pursued an associate degree in Accounting. He was then hired by Western Electric where he had a 30-year career as a Cost Analyst. In his more active years, Darrell was a competitive golfer and enthusiastically participated in many tournaments and challenges. He loved a good game of cards and enjoyed getting together with friends and family to play. He was fortunate to travel domestically but was always happy to get home. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and a dedicated family man.
Survivors include his daughter, Cindy Holmes Severa and husband Mark; and son, Jeffrey Holmes and partner Carrie Caligan. Other survivors include four grandchildren: Justin Forbes of Graham; Hanna Myers and husband Austin of Reidsville; Braxton Holmes of Graham; and Jake Holmes and wife Kristen of Harmony, FL. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kelsey Severa. He has seven well-loved great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Rick Purcell with the family receiving friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Park.
