Dixie Lee Trent Cutlip, 85, of Burlington passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025 at The Oaks of Alamance.

A native of Nicholas County, W.Va., she was the wife of the late Burl Cutlip and the daughter of James Richard Trent and Opal Rider Trent, both deceased.

Dixie graduated from Nicholas County High School in Summersville, West Virginia, where she loved playing on the basketball team. She was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She was very active with her boys while they were in school, taking part in the PTA, being their Cub Scout leader and their 4H leader. Dixie enjoyed playing golf and was the Club Champion for one year while living in Kinston, NC. She also enjoyed doing different crafts, listening to Elvis and spending time with her family. Her children and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a longtime member of Graham Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her two sons, W. Brian Cutlip and wife Leigh of Graham and David W. Cutlip and wife Dani of Lake Royal; six grandchildren, Zachary Cutlip and wife Kristin, Joshua Michael Cutlip and fiancée Alex, Nicholas Cutlip, Darren Cutlip, Ainsley Cutlip, Morgan Cutlip; two great grandchildren, Arden and Marsh Cutlip; sister, Sandy Page and husband David; and sister in law, Lucille Trent.

She was preceded in death by a son, James Michael "Mike" Cutlip; brother, Larry Trent; and a sister, Patricia Avsec.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Graham Presbyterian Church. The burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston, NC.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Graham Presbyterian Church.
