Terrell Lee Moore

Terrell Lee Moore, aged 88, passed away on February 18, 2026 in Burlington, North Carolina. Born November 15, 1937 to Wendell McGee Moore and Eulalia Priest Moore in Lampasas, Texas, Terrell lived a life devoted to Christian ministry, service, and family.

A graduate of Lampasas High School, Baylor University, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Terrell began pastoring churches in Texas while still in college. He moved to Ohio in 1968 to serve as a church planter, pastor, and director of missions with the North American Mission Board, Southern Baptist Convention, and Ohio Baptist Convention until 2003. In retirement in North Carolina, Terrell continued to serve as a substitute preacher and church leader.

Terrell was preceded in death by his parents, brother Keith Moore, brother Larry Moore, and first wife Carolyn Martin Moore. He is survived by Janice Moss Moore, his wife of 52 years; children, Lynette Sandley, Ingrid Miller, Terrell Moore, Traci Van Acker, and Andrea Massey; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His work ethic and humility will continue to inspire all who knew him. His family and others close to him will remember his overalls, corny jokes, and love of eating ice cream, playing dominoes and tossing washers.

A celebration of Terrell's life will be held on February 23, 2026.
