Janet Marrie Cutlip, 73, of Akron, passed away peacefully at her home on February 11, 2026, just shy of her 74th birthday. She was born in Nebo, WV on February 16, 1952 to the late James and Lena {Jarvis} Dawson.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Lorenzo "Marty" Turner.
Janet is survived by her loving daughters Dana (Sam Pastorius) Cutlip, Regina (Bob) Steddum, Bobby (Bob) Canterbury, Shalena (Jake) Stokes; grandchildren Thomas(Chania Massie) Noland, Mason (Alaina) Pastorius, Brooke (Jayle Dingle) Pastorius and Cote Canterbury; great-granddaughters Adriana and Avery Noland; former spouse David W. Cutlip; siblings Louretta Dawson and James Dawson; nieces and nephews Jimmy, Jennifer and Stacey Dawson.
Janet was incredibly generous, and would happily give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She loved her family with everything she had, and could turn a penny into a dollar to make sure they were cared for.
Per Janet's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will be planned for the spring. To share a memory of Janet or leave a special message for her family, visit the guest book below.
