William Ernest Holmes

William Ernest Holmes, 83, of Snow Camp passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 52 years to Jean Braxton Holmes, who survives and the son of William Albert Holmes and Pearl Marie Payne, both deceased.

Ernest was a lifetime farmer and brick mason. He enjoyed being outdoors, working on his farm, listening to country music and spending time with his family and his dogs. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife of their home, he is survived by two children, Joseph Alan Price and wife Kim and Patricia Kay Reyna and husband Humberto; two grandsons, Braxton Reyna and Thomas Price; two granddaughters, Kayli Reyna and Rebecca Simones and husband Quint; one great granddaughter, Eleanor Simones; four sisters, Shirley Straughan, Faye Cates and husband Allen, Frances Elmore and husband Jimmie, Joyce Graves; one brother, Jack Holmes; several loving nieces and nephews; and a special great niece, Delani Straughan.

A graveside service will be conducted at Concord United Methodist Church cemetery on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 11:00 am.
