Stephen Michael Good, Sr., 63, passed away peacefully at his home in
Haw River, North Carolina, on February 9, 2026, after a short battle with cancer. A native of
Youngstown, Ohio, Stephen was born on March 1, 1962, and brought a sense of adventure and dedication to every chapter of his life. His faith in God remained a guiding force throughout his life, providing him with strength during challenging times.
Stephen built a fulfilling career through hard work and commitment. He retired from Firestone, where he worked as a mechanic, applying his skills with precision and care. In 2009, Stephen and his family relocated to North Carolina, where he transitioned into healthcare. He retired from UNC Health in 2022 after holding several positions. Among these roles, he was most proud of his time as the administrative assistant for the Operating Room-a position that reflected both his organizational talents and his ability to support others in high-pressure environments.
Stephen cherished time spent with family above all else. Family vacations to the beach were among his favorite pastimes-moments filled with laughter and lasting memories that will be treasured by those who shared them.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Susan Good; son, Stephen Good Jr.; daughter, Michelle Codner and her husband James Codner; daughter, Christina Good and her husband Desmond Wallace; son, Vincent Williams and his wife Anna Williams; son, Jacob Good; sister, Barbara Yonnotti; sister-in-law, Deborah Good; and many beloved grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Good Sr., and Charlene Wilson Good; his brothers, Leonard Good Jr., and James Good; his brother-in-law, David Yonnotti; and his niece, Niki Yonnotti.
Visitation will be held on February 12, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home, 207 E. Elm St.,
Graham, NC. Funeral Services will be held on February 13, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham, followed by a graveside service at Phillips Chapel Cemetery, 2362 Brucewood Road,
Haw River, NC.
