Darrell Duane Ingram of Queen Creek, Arizona was born on Jan. 7th, 1943 and passed
away on Friday, March 4th, 2022 in Gilbert, AZ at 79 years of age. He was born in
Mineral Wells, Texas and spent most of his childhood and adolescence in Keyes, Ok.
Even though Darrell was raised in a small town, he had big dreams. In 1961, he joined
the Navy and served in the South Pacific during the Vietnam War. While stationed in
Hawaii, Darrell met Virginia and they were married shortly after he left the Navy, a
marriage that lasted 56 years. During that time, Darrell and Virginia had two boys,Darren and Ryan.
As a young married man, Darrell was no stranger to hard work. He had a full time job in
the day and went to college in the evening while studying at night, first to get his
Associates Degree in Kansas City, MO and then his Bachelors Degree in accounting while
living in Guymon, OK. His accounting degree served him well as he ended up working in
the Oklahoma State Capital building from 1977 to 1979 for Leo Winters, the State
Treasurer of Oklahoma.
Darrell then returned to Guymon and purchased Guymon Office Supply which he and his
wife expanded into a larger building, adding a print shop, as well as another office supply
in Woodward, OK. In addition, Darrell had the first Apple Computer dealership in
Western Oklahoma.
In 1989, Darrell and Virginia sold their business in Guymon, and moved to Gilbert, AZ.
Shortly after, Darrell earned his real estate and mortgage broker licenses and then
founded Interstate Mortgage with his son, Ryan.
Darrell was an avid fan of the OU Sooners and Kansas City Chiefs. In, 2015, he retired in
order to spend more time with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all those
who knew him.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Virginia, his two sons, Darren and Ryan and his two
brothers E.J. and Gary.
Services were held at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home in Queen Creek, Arizona on
Saturday, March 12th, 2022 at 2pm.
