Darrell Lee Ledford, a beloved mother, friend, and community member, passed away peacefully from natural causes on August 2, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on September 23, 1928, in Georgia, she spent her later years in Gastonia, NC, where she became a cherished figure in her community.
Darrell was a proud member of Chapel Grove Church of God for many years, where she formed lasting friendships and connections. She was employed for many years at Wallace Computer Services, Gastonia. In her retirement, she filled her days walking and enjoying the beauty of nature, often taking special trips to the mountains to gather cabbage for her famous homemade kraut. She also loved sharing experiences with friends from her church, taking trips and creating memories that would last a lifetime.
She will be lovingly remembered by her three children: son, Ralph Ledford (Rikki Vales); daughters, Pamela Head and Lynn Stephens (Steve); daughter in-law, Wanda Ledford; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life during visitation at Greene Funeral Service - West Chapel on August 6, 2025, at 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Darrell will then be laid to rest at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC.
Darrell's spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her, and her warmth will be greatly missed.
Darrell was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Roxie Harper; husband, Roy Grady Ledford; son, Keith Ledford; great granddaughter, Chloe Price; three siblings.
