Darrell Lindstrom

Darrell M. Lindstrom, 83, of Rockford, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Born June 18, 1942, in Rockford, the son of J. Merritt and Gertrude (Johnson) Lindstrom. Graduate of East High School, Class of 1960. Darrell married Judith A. Koeser on September 7, 1963. He worked for various machine tool companies in the Rockford area including, Ingersoll, Greenlee, Rehnberg-Jacobson, Sundstrand and Rockford Automation before retiring in 2003, and Menards part time for the past 22 years as a plumbing specialist. Darrell was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he was part of church council, A Capella Choir, Men's Ministry and Laotian Ministry. Later joining Journey of Hope UMC in 2022. He was a former member of Cherry Valley Fire Protection District serving as treasurer of Board of Trustees for 18 years and Kiwanis Brat Days serving as co-site chair at Edgebrook.

Survived by his wife, Judith; sons, Andrew (Jennifer) Lindstrom of Elgin, and Benjamin (Darci) Lindstrom of Marshfield, WI; daughter, Rebecca (Tim Sanders) Hansen of Crestwood, MO; grandchildren, Zachery (Emma) Lindstrom, Cade (Sydney) & Stig Lindstrom, Joshua "JJ" Lindstrom, and Eric Hansen; great-grandchildren, Ledger, Stetson, and Taylor Sue; brother, Joel (Jeanne) Lindstrom of Lake Emden, Maine; several nieces and nephews; and special friends and caregivers, Mary & Terry Whitesel, Sonny Schuster and Chrissy Salser. Predeceased by his parents.

Memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Journey of Hope UMC, 37W040 Highland Ave, Elgin, IL 60124.
