Darrell McConnell, 66, of Slaughters, KY passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville.

He was born on January 29, 1959, in Livermore, KY, to the late Mildred Brown Scott and Bruce McConnell. He retired from Kubota as a mechanic. He loved surfing the internet and watching classic shows on tv. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy McConnell.

His survivors include his wife of forty-eight years, Cindy Pharris McConnell; son, Jason (Andrea) McConnell of Manitou; daughter, Debbie Craig of Madisonville; brothers, Gerald (Patty) McConnell, Stevie McConnell, Doyle (Becky) McConnell, and Billy (Joyce) McConnell; sister, Patricia McConnell; grandchildren, Jordan Craig, Tyler Craig, Morgan (Brett) Canler, Caleb (Kayleigh) Craig, and Mason McConnell; and his great-grandchildren, Liam, Leilani-Grace, Aspin, Rylee, Tylen, Ryder, Adler, and Cohen.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Deacon Matthew Thomson officiating. Burial to follow at Onton Cemetery in Onton, KY, when the weather permits.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Caleb Craig, Jordan Craig, Mason McConnell, Brett Canler, Brad Jones, Colton McConnell, Wesley McConnell, and Joe Knoth. Honorary pallbearer is Liam Craig.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to Darrell's monument fund.
