Darrell Eugene "Rusty" Morrison

Darrell "Rusty" Eugene Morrison, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 29, 2026 while at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born in Cleveland County to the late Charles Morrison and Jean Hutchins Morrison.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Vickie Davis Morrison of the home; son, Landon Morrison and wife, Tosha Morrison; grandchildren, Logan and Tucker Morrison; brothers, Dusty Morrison and Pete Morrison; special uncle, Randy Gantt; numerous nieces and nephews; numerous friends and co-workers; beloved cats.

Rusty was a member at Crestview Baptist Church and a member of Cleveland Masonic Lodge #202, of Shelby, NC. Rusty held multiple positions at Duke Energy stations across their entire service area. He was also an employee of the City of Shelby for a brief period and was currently an employee at Robert Morgan Funeral and Cremation Service, LLC. He was a graduate of Crest Senior High School, Shelby, NC.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family, four wheeler racing and dirt racing, fishing, and working in his shop. He was a devoted family man and never met a stranger. He was known for his infectious smile and unwavering kindness and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 03, 2026 at Crestview Baptist Church, 1090 Old Boiling Springs Road, Shelby, NC 28152 with Dr. Don Berry officiating and music by Jeremy McSwain. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service. Private burial will be held at a later date.
