It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of William Dale Crook, who left us peacefully on January 29, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on April 30, 1935, in North Carolina.
Dale was known for his dedication and skill as an electrician for Vaughn Construction, from where he retired. He was the kind of person who could fix just about anything, and he loved to share his knowledge with those around him. His hands, worn from years of work, always seemed to know what to do to make things right. He was a die-hard Carolina Tarheel fan and an avid golfer. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his earlier years he coached girls softball, and enjoyed going hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Teresa Gibson (Jerry), Wanda Grubbs (Ricky), and Lisa Estes (Joey), as well as his sons, Jamie Crook and Richard Crook; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; . He cherished his family deeply, and his presence will be missed by all who knew him.
Dale was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geraldine Crook; parents, Oscar and Ollie Crook; eight brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia, NC, on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 2:00 PM, with visitation starting an hour earlier at 1:00 PM.
We invite everyone who knew Dale to join us in celebrating his life and the impact he had on so many. He will always be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering spirit. Rest easy, William-you'll be missed but never forgotten. Condolences may be shared at: www.greenefuneral.com.
