Darrell Allen Pinnell, of Cuba, MO, was born on Wednesday, February 14, 1979, in Rolla, MO, to Larry Alan Pinnell and Helen Catherine Pinnell, nee Brendel. He passed away in Cuba, MO, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the age of 45 years, 10 months and 21 days.
Darrell graduated from Cuba High School in the Class of 1997. During high school, he attended Vo-Tech in Rolla, MO, for bricklaying and won a state competition, which lead him to receive 4th in Nationals. He was also very active in 4H all throughout his childhood. Darrell married his high school sweetheart, April LeDawn Wood, on June 24, 2000, at Sullivan Christian Church, and to this union two sons were born. He was a bricklayer by trade and was a Supervisor for Heitkamp Masonry, based out of St. Louis, MO. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending his time teaching his boys how to hunt and fish and teaching them about living a good life; instilling values like kindness, respect, responsibility, honesty and a strong work ethic. He always gave 110% in anything he did, never doing anything halfway. Darrell didn't like to say no to anyone who asked for help. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews; he loved to take them on SXS rides, fishing, hunting and to feed the fish in his pond. He also enjoyed teaching them about gardening and would get down and play with them like a kid himself. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother and uncle. He loved his family with all his heart and always made sure he put his family first.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank & Florence Pinnell and Carl & Berniece Brendel; uncle, George Pinnell; nephew, Cole Nichols.
Darrell is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, April Pinnell of Cuba, MO; sons, David and Blake Pinnell both of Cuba, MO; parents, Larry and Helen Pinnell of Cuba, MO; parents-in-law, Dave and Sandy Wood of Cuba, MO; siblings, Mark (wife Jessica) Pinnell of Cuba, MO and Katie (husband Andrew) Nichols of St. James, MO; nieces and nephews: Chelsea Pinnell, Miranda Pinnell, Aven Nichols, Alana Nichols, Reina Nichols and Ethan Nichols; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation was from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO. Funeral Service was at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO, with Pastor Tommy Miller officiating. Burial was at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, MO. Memorials were suggested to a local 4H Club.

Darrell and Mark finished this project for us in October. He was there every morning at 7am in Defiance Mo. Could always rely on Darrell to do what he said when he said. And of course a beer after a hard days work was expected.
