Jonathan Creek Community, Darrell Wayne Pressley, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
A native of Haywood County he was a son of Billy Wayne and Judy Tate Pressley. Darrell was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Johnny and Ora Lee Pressley; maternal grandparents, Sam and Marie Tate. He was co-owner of Pressley Contracting & Excavating for 40 years. Darrell was a Deacon of Dellwood Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 41 years, Pam Pressley; daughter, Holly Rogers, and her husband, Tyler; son, Cameron Pressley, and his wife, Ashton; father and mother-in-law, Phil and Margaret James; two brothers, Greg Pressley, and his wife, Denise and Heath Pressley, and his wife, Lisa; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Pam James; four grandchildren, Brayden and Maggie Pressley, Seth Rogers and little baby boy on the way; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Dellwood Baptist Church with Reverend Bobby Rogers and Reverend Shawn Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be, Heath Pressley, Blake Evans, Neil Carpenter, Bob Messer, Tim Sisk and Ricky Teague. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Dellwood Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dellwood Baptist Church Youth Fund, 115 Hall Drive, Waynesville, NC 28785.
The care of Mr. Pressley has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
