Darrell F. Roecker, age 79, of Slinger, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
Darrell was born on December 28, 1945, in
Hartford, WI to his loving parents, Franklin and Laura (nee Rheinke) Roecker. He graduated from Slinger High School class of 1964 and went on to work for GTE until he was drafted into the United States Army. Darrell was stationed in North Carolina and the Dominican Republic during the Vietnam era. He remained active in the Slinger VFW post #3358 for many years. After his military service, Darrell returned to work for the Slinger phone company and retired after 46 years of employment.
He married the love of his life Mary Ann (nee Felten) Roecker on September 24, 1966, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Slinger, WI. They raised five children together. Darrell was involved and dedicated to his family, always providing a pillar of strength and support. He enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting and music events and cherished the times he spent hunting with them. Darrell loved to socialize and will be known and missed for his gift of storytelling.
He was a dedicated and active member of Peace Lutheran Church in
Hartford, WI. His unwavering faith was the cornerstone of his life and family, guiding him and those he loved through life's challenges and joys with grace and resilience.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann Roecker; children, Darrell "Buddy" (Tami) Roecker of Campbellsport, WI, Stacey (Jon) Hartmann of West Melbourne, FL, Jamie (Roberta) Roecker of Oshkosh, WI, Eric (Mary) Roecker of Menomonee Falls, WI, Jason Roecker of Slinger, WI; grandchildren, Jacob (Emily), Tyler (Izzy), Lucas (Lauren), Micah, Miriam, Rees, and Riley Roecker, Caleb (Hannah), Noah (Sarah) Hartmann, Rachel (Alex) Lindemann; great grandchildren, Evelynn, Henry, Ellie, Leo, Laina, Jovie; siblings, Dianne (Michael) Hess, Debbie Mertz, and Denise (Brent) Johnson. He is further survived by other loved family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Laura Roecker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Darrell's memory can be made out to the Martin Luther College Tuition Assistance or Peace Lutheran Building Fund.
Funeral Services for Darrell will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church (1001 Center St.,
Hartford, WI 53027). Family will greet relatives and friends from 12:00 p.m. until the start of service at 2:00 p.m.
Darrell's spirit, faith, and stories will live on in the hearts of all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
