John Roecker Obituary
John was born on November 4, 1930, in Peoria to Adolf and Lydia Roecker. He married Josephine R. Heinsman on March 22, 1958, and they were married for 64 years before she preceded him in death on October 7, 2022.
His brother, Adolf Roecker Jr. and sister Marie Hoerr, also precede him in death.
John is survived by his daughter, Joy (Douglas) Wilder of Chicago, IL; son, Jim (Alexandria Eddy) Roecker of Broomfield, CO; grandson, Michael Wilder; two granddaughters, Nichole and Stephanie Wilder; and sister, Louise Roecker.
He worked at Caterpillar, Roecker Cabinets, and Bradley University and he was a Peoria City Chess Champion.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Grace Presbyterian Church with a visitation prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an organization of the donor's choice.
