Steven "Steve" Martin Daly, 59 of Peoria, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, in Peoria.

Steve was born on May 25, 1966, in Peoria to James and Frances Fortner Daly.

He attended the Academy of Our Lady Spalding Institute and graduated from Woodruff High School in 1984.

He married the love of his life, Karin Rader on September 13, 1997, in Peoria.

She survives along with his two children: Billie (Micaela) Daly and Kendall Daly.

His siblings, Vickie (Donny) Motteler, Cheryl (Dave) Hobin, Tracy (the late Rick) Kammerer, Jim Daly, Sandy Witty, and Kathleen (Joe) O'Neill; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Debra Marie Daly.

Steve has been a member of Woodland Baptist Church in Peoria since 1997, where he and his wife were Sunday School teachers to many kids over the years.

He was a sub-contractor for Ekhoff Roofing for over 20 years.

Those who knew Steve will always remember his unwavering commitment to his family, his dedication as a father, his undeniable work ethic, his mad dance skills and pure hatred of onions. Aside from the love he had for his family, he also had a love for peanut butter cups, fishing, and watching the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame Fighting Irish football with a "cold one".

Steve was a blessing to those that had the privilege of knowing him. He was the cornerstone of his family, whose love for his wife and children know no bounds.

Our hearts are broken, and his passing has left a huge void in the lives of his family and friends. Steve will be missed beyond words, but his light will continue to shine through the lives of the beautiful family he created. He could always make his family laugh and smile.

A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Woodland Baptist Church in Peoria.

A visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM.

Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.

Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association, or Woodland Baptist Church.

My condolences to your family, Steve and i used to run around a bit back in the day. He was always a good friend and it appears that we had a lot in common later in life as well. I am sure he will be greatly missed by all.

Steve was such a great person. I have known Steve for 14 plus years through the building industry and we became friends. I will miss having conversations about the Cubs in the parking lot here at Richards Building Supply every time you came in. I remember the trip we took to Wrigley, and we were in a traffic stop and our bus didn't have a bathroom, and your nephew had to go so bad he hopped off the bus on Michigan Ave. and found a bathroom and still managed to beat us to the game. They broke the mold with you Steve my heart hurts hearing this. You will be missed. I pray for comfort to your family as they are hurting more than I can imagine. Until next time my friend as you would always say GO CUBS!!!
