Darrell Ron Sanders

December 21, 1997 – September 27, 2025

Darrell Sanders, lovingly known as "Nuk " to family and "Smash," to friends, passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 27 in Linden, New Jersey. He was born in Newark, NJ, and spent much of his childhood in uptown Elizabeth, where he formed lifelong friendships that became like family.

Darrell attended John E. Dwyer Technology Academy in Elizabeth, NJ. He carried a strong work ethic and took pride in making his own way. He loved providing for those he cared about and was most passionate about raising his daughter, Nasadi Williams, and his soon-to-be daughter, Naiyeli Ashanti "Si'Najah" Williams, who were the greatest joys of his life.

Darrell was the beloved son of Siddeequah Overton (married to Lamar Jones) and Ron Sanders. He leaves behind his devoted sisters, Ashanti Overton, Kamani Overton, and Jazelle Sanders; his brothers, Omari Ducasse, Sideeq Jones, and Najee Jones; and his cherished nephew, Isaiah Scott. He is reunited in peace with his brother, Zyron Sanders, and his grandmothers, Gloria Overton and Debra Sanders.

Darrell had many passions-he enjoyed football, drawing, cooking, and music. Though shy and quiet at times, those who knew him best remember his sense of humor and how he could make people laugh. He carried a smile that lit up the room, and his gentle, caring spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Darrell's memory will forever live on through his daughters, his family, and his friends who became family. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and devotion, and he will never be forgotten.
