Darrell Ray Steele, 78, of Bluefield, WV, passed August 25, 2024, at Bluestone Nursing and Rehab in Bluefield, WV.
Born August 18, 1946, in Wise, VA, he was a son of the late Clarence and Lillie Hamilton Steele. Darrell was a retired coal miner, retiring in 2001. He also attended the Pentecostal Holliness Faith Church in McDowell County.
In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by brothers, Delmar, Ralph, Bobby, Harold, and Jimmy Steele, and sister, Sue Riffe.
Those left to cherish Darrell's memory are his wife, Mary Jane Bishop Steele, of Bluefield, WV; son, William "Billy" Lambert, of Welch, WV; brother, Roger Steele and wife Louise, of Bluefield, WV; sister, Nancy Scott and husband Bob, of Stanley, NC; sisters-in-law, Geneva Steele of Paynesville, WV, and Mary Steele of Moneta, VA; step-daughters, Nancy and husband Lee Deweese of Bluefield, WV and Darlene and husband Doug Tritt of Peterstown, WV; step-grandson, Dustin Tackett and significant other Katie Jennelle of Bluefield, VA; step-great grandchildren, Kyla, Kane, and Kole Tackett of Bluefield, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held, Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV, with Pastor Randall Dority officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call an hour prior to services, from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
