Eleftheria Steele

Eleftheria Steele, 78, a resident of Vineland, passed into eternal life in the comfort of her home following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's on Sunday, March 8th, 2026.

Her loving and devoted Husband, William T. Steele, cared for her until the end.

Born on August 10th, 1947, in Perikopi, Florinas, Greece; Eleftheria (Ria) was one of four children born to the late Christos and Vasiliki Stavrou.

Ria excelled at everything she put her mind to. She was an excellent cook, interior and exterior home decorator and even taught herself English. She loved the color of flowers and placed them throughout the house and yard. Lovely as a Greek goddess, Ria turned heads with her elegance and poise until the very end. She was a beautiful person both inside and out.

Ria loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her beloved son Chris and stepson-in-law Brad Green.

She is survived by her husband, William Steele, her children, Louis Klekos (Martha), Harry Klekos (Maria), and Connie Klekos Lirio (Chris); her grandchildren, Chris Klekos, Christopher (CJ) Lirio, Sophia and Alexa Klekos; stepchildren, Kimberly Green, William Steele (Dustin), and Benjamin Steele (Courtney); step-grandchildren, Eli, Emma and Erin Green.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, March 14th,2026 from 10:00am-11:00am, followed by a service at 11am at St. Anthony's Greek Orthodox Church, 430 W Wheat Rd.,Vineland. Burial will follow at Siloam Cemetery, Vineland.
