Joyous, compassionate, caring, kind. Those are just some of the simple words that could easily describe Darren. But the true way to describe him are beyond words. It's the way he made you feel- about life, yourself, your spirituality and the way you can and should treat those around you. He found the positive side to all the negative things that could bring you down and would always try to get you to look at things from a different perspective. To some he could be looked on as a big brother, a father figure, a mentor. At some point throughout the years I've known him, he was all of those to me. But most of all, he was my friend. My friend, with a laugh you could pick out from a sea of laughter and he had the most sincere smile. He had an almost child-like excitement when getting to learn new things exclaiming, "get outta here!" and looking at you with wonderment. He knew how to make you feel comfortable in your own skin. And to his fiance' Lalisha, he made her feel like a queen. From their first 'get to know you date' as he called it, to their relationship blossoming into a love straight from a romance novel. Im so happy he was able to find love again and that he is able to carry that love with him to the heavens. Im happy that Lalisha was able to be shown how a real man is supposed to treat a woman and that she was able to feel what true love is. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal." Darren was loved. Darren was Love. He will always be remembered.

Lynn Jefferson AHA work family
Darren lead our Bible study at AHA for years. He was not only a co-worker but a friend. The conversation in his cubicle when I should have been at my own desk. He kindness I will always remember. He would let hand at the lunch table with Dave and Jim as they talked sports. You will be missed.

I always joked with you about your suitcase a.k.a. lunch bag and we would laugh about how much food you had in it. Everyday I look over at your table and just have a little inside laugh and then it hits me that your gone and it just doesn't feel real. We had our moments oh boy but I definitely thought it would be one those" we been at it for years" things. I'm sad to know it wont be. You will be missed but not forgotten. I pray for your loved ones heart to someday mend. R.I.P.

Darren... Yarelis and I have talked about this often. How much we absolutely dread the day we would have to say goodbye like this to someone that held such a special place in our hearts. Never could we have imagined it would be you to have us writing this. Not Darren. Not someone so healthy and full of life, joy, ambition. You were nothing but optimistic, always searching for something new to learn. So lighthearted, the first one to reach out and make the new employees feel right at home. Yarelis and I will truly cherish our memories with you. Our dreams for the future, our little conspiracy theories, sports talk, messing with Jeff lol, always poking fun at you and Lalisha for being all cutesy and in love you really made her face glow and it was beautiful to witness This hurts so many people Darren you have no idea the impact you had on all of us. You truly were 3rd shifts "beacon in the night"
Shine bright up there for all of us! But especially for your family and Lisha

Words cant express the type of person Darren was he's dedication to making all that came to our shift comfortable and welcomed to his laughter and watching him walk the hallways talking to everyone it didn´t matter who. I not only gained a coworker/ friend but I considered him a big brother we sure debated like it anyways but he always had a way to make you feel like what you thought and said was a good idea or point his smile was so capturing that is one of the memories I would keep of him anyone that couldn´t see the joy he beamed from his smile is just blind. 3rd shift definitely took a hit with his passing but I will do everything in my power to keep his memory alive. Darren you will never be forgotten you have left a bold imprint in our life´s and I´m grateful to have known you and blessed to be able to celebrate you. Family we are grieving with you and I would like to extend my deepest condolences for your loss.

Where do I even begin . Darren was always the type of person to bring out the best in others. His strong personality is what attracted everyone to him the most. He was always such a loving, caring, funny person. I feel honored to have spent the time I have gotten to spend around him . From being in manufacturing working, joking around, just having deep conversations with him, always getting his input on situations and seeing his point of view on things was just amazing . I will always treasure the moments we shared. Hearing his yawns, his oh boys an me always joking around saying oh girl was just an insider we shared. To the secret Santa's, the birthday cakes and cupcakes every month to make everyone feel special. To see the way he loved and the way he always strived to do more for others was always such an inspiration to me . He was always the highlight of our shift . He will truly be missed. Honestly it still feels unreal. Work will never be the same without Darren. I just want to say thank you Darren for everything . For always been you. For always bringing our shift together. You truly impacted our shift in a great way .

As strange as it is, every now and then at ThermoFisher, I can still hear the way he laughed...or yawned sometimes... and that is coming from one whom is partially deaf.

Darren was both my coworker & friend at AmeriHealth Administrators for 20+ years. He was a polite, good person who didn't hesitate to help others whether it involved work or outside of work.
During the time I knew him at work we had many good conversations concerning work or discussing the local sports teams.
The world lost a good person and he will be missed.

Darren always lit up a room. He was a very happy person with an infectious laugh. He cared deeply about other people and would do anything to make you feel inclusive. We would all chip in every month, and he would pick up cake and fruit to celebrate birthdays. He will never be forgotten. Darren was our good will ambassador. Someone who cared and touched all our lives.
