Mr. Darryl Lee Dodson, 69, of Hartwell, passed away Monday, December 22, 2025 at Brookdale of Hartwell.
Born on October 21, 1956, in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late William Harold Dodson Sr. and Willie Grace Nixon Dodson. Mr. Dodson attended both Emmanuel College and Georgia Southern University, and was a retired controller for Milliken-Avalon Plant. He was also a member of the Sardis Baptist Church, Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690, and the Yaarab Temple.
Survivors include his brother: Bill Dodson (Rachel) of Hartwell; sister: Debbie Pitt of Hartwell; four nephews: Bret Dodson, Brian Dodson, David Seymour (Tracy), and Shane Seymour; and one niece: Leighanne Craft (David). Mr. Dodson was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Eddie Dodson.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 26, 2025 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.
Funeral services for Mr. Darryl Dodson will be December 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. John Silver officiating. Masonic Rites will follow the service and burial will be in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sardis Baptist Church, 4359 Anderson Hwy, Hartwell, GA 30643, or the Masonic Home of Georgia, P.O. Box 6637, Macon, GA 31294-9761.
