Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evans & Browne's Funeral Home on Aug. 14, 2024.
Darryl Juan Jackson, adored son, brother, amazing uncle, friend and our "Classic Man" was born November 6, 1963 in River Rouge, Michigan to Mary and Theodore Jackson, Jr. transitioned from earth to heaven on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Darryl was a spunky little kid. He was diagnosed with Childhood Hodgkin's Lymphoma at age 10. He underwent treatment for 2 school years and went back to school like nothing had ever happened. He attended Buena Vista High School and graduated with the Class of 1981. He went on to Soumi College and graduated with an Associates in Liberal Arts. In his early years, he was THE BEST shoe salesman in Saginaw, Detroit and Atlanta. He later completed a Civil Engineering degree from Macomb Community College despite having his first heart attack during his studies. After receiving his Civil Engineering Associates from Macomb Community College, he began his career at Michigan Department of Transportation as a Construction Tech. He retired from MDOT in 2019.
Darryl was a walking display of God's grace on Earth. He gave heart disease a tenacious fight until the end and never once let up! He never let people see his struggle. His "Jackson Smile", smooth swagger and electric personality illuminated any space he entered. He devoted his life to family, whom he loved and cherished. All his life he enjoyed traveling, dancing, playing golf, listening to jazz music and spending time with family. He was the bougie brother, a sharp dresser, a sports-aholic, an avid "Sparty" and never met a stranger. His spirit, fierce personality, zest for life, and steadfast determination to live life will be remembered by the lives he touched.
