Mr. Darryl Wade McWhorter of Boaz passed away at the age of 61 on December 24, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital
Funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the McRae Chapel with Bro. Michael Abercrombie & Bro. Jimmy Estes officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
Wade’s greatest joy was being “Pop” to his precious grandbabies. He loved Alabama Football (Roll Tide!), playing cards with family, taking drives with no destination with his Sweetpea and most of all he loved his family. Wade was silly and funny and deeply loyal. He was a dedicated employee at Mueller for 24 years.
Mr. McWhorter is survived by his beloved Sweetpea, Wife: Donna McWhorter of Boaz, Daughters: April Burns of Boaz, Shawna McWhorter of Huntsville, Kayla & Chase Randolph of Boaz. Son: Ben & Morgan McWhorter of Boaz. Grandchildren: Will Burman, Indy Kate Randolph, Olivia McWhorter, Sophia McWhorter. Daughter-in-Love: Brittney Scott. Siblings: Geneva Staton Smith (Tommy) of Boaz, Cynthia Jones of Boaz, Terry Staton (Jane) of Albertville, Freddie McWhorter (Lanie) of Albertville, Jerry McWhorter (Wonda) of Albertville, Max McWhorter (Annette) of Douglas. Many beloved nieces & Nephews.
Mr. McWhorter was preceded in death by his Parents: Eugene McWhorter & Imogene McWhorter Campbell. Brother-in-Law: Carl Jones and his favorite dog Buffy.
