Darryl Schultz Obituary
Darryl F. Schultz, passed away on his 71st birthday, February 28, 2026, following a brief illness.
Born February 28, 1955 in Batavia, he was a son of the late Lyle E. Schultz and Mary Jane (Bickert) Newton. Darryl grew up in the East Shelby/Barre community. He was a graduate of Albion High School in the Class of 1974. In his earlier years Darryl worked for Owens-Illinois in Brockport. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Darryl was predeceased by both parents; stepfather, Richard Newton, Sr.; his wife, Marybeth Schultz; and three stepbrothers, James Newton, Joseph Newton and Richard Newton, Jr.
Survivors include his devoted sister, Gerri Schultz of Albion; stepson, R. Michael (Talisa) Chillari; sisters-in-law, Elaine Newton and Dawn Newton; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and close family friend, Lori Ferguson.
Services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Donations in Darryl’s memory may be made to PAWS Animal Shelter, 3371 Gaines Basin Rd., Albion, NY 14411. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
