LIMA -- Darryl Keith "Hillbilly" Taylor, 68, passed away at 5:41 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at his home. He was born on August 26, 1956, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Louis P. and Mary Elizabeth (Gibson) Taylor.
Darryl drove a semi for Vorst Paving in Ottawa. Driving a semi was his passion. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with the Putuck Chucall MC and the Barbarians MC. He loved his kids, and his grandchildren were the light of his Life. They never did any wrong in his eyes. He was a very friendly and outgoing person. He always knew everyone, and no one was a stranger to him. He loved his western and old country music, and he enjoyed frequenting Sportcasters, the Waiting Room, and Cheryl's.
He is survived by his brother, Michael Taylor; sister, Paula Noble; brother, Paul (Shelly) Taylor; brother-in-law, Gary Rister; son, Jamie (Danielle) Taylor; daughter, Shannon (Shane); son, Darryl Taylor; daughter, Samantha Boughan; daughter, Jackie (Bobby) Taylor; son, Cory (Jamie) Taylor; grandchildren: Isaiah, Ava, Alena, Lavada, Ali (Daryl), Cheyenne (Keaton), Seth (Megan), Maddie, Charlie, Brandon, Elaina, Joseph, Patrick, Charisty, Conner, Laken, Corbin, Lexi, Ashton, Gabe, Andrez (Paige), Dante (Maci), Jayden (Delaney), and Cierra (Charlie); great-grandchildren: Emery, Aubrey, Skylynn, Phoenix, Ember Lee, and Oaklynn; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces & nephews. He is also survived by his former wife, Wendy Freytag and stepchildren: Audrianna (Sean) Weisbrody, Michael Bryant, and six step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Susan (William) Knotts, Karen Rister and Emily Bradley; infant brother, Matthew Taylor; and brother-in-law, David Noble.
The family will receive friends from 12 – 6 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A Time of Sharing will begin 6 p.m. If you have a bike ride it and wear your jeans and t-shirts or any Harley gear.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Interim Hospice.
