Darryl Vintinner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Plummer Funeral Home - Augusta on May 13, 2025.
OAKLAND, MAINE
Darryl Thomas Vintinner, Jr. ("D.J."), left this planet unexpectedly in his sleep, in the early morning hours of May 3rd, 2025.
"Deej", as he was lovingly referred to from his birth, was an awesome Daddy, faithful spouse, spectacular brother, wonderful son, nephew, grandson, cousin, veteran, humanitarian, comedian, and good friend. He was an all-around beautiful person who shined his love and light where it mattered most: focusing on his three lovely daughters for these past 13 years.
His intelligence, quick wit, and caring heart will live on through his many jokes, sayings, and songs. Some of his family's favorite 'Deej-isms' include him randomly shouting out "Nap time!" at random times during the day, and asking in an overexaggerated tone of voice "Ya hungry?!", as well as breaking out into random silly songs and beat-box throughout the day. His family will forever be changed and will always miss his humor, compassion and love.
DJ was a lover of Nature and being outside in the warmer months with his daughters and the dogs. He couldn't wait for Spring every year to take hikes with his daughters on the trails near his property. He also enjoyed fishing with his daughters in nearby lakes and rivers; and trips to various locations throughout the state, including Mount Katahdin when he could. As private as he was, DJ enjoyed being the 'Grill Master' and spending time with his family and close friends.
DJ is survived by his loving and supportive spouse, Amy (Morrisette) Vintinner and his three beautiful daughters, Cadence Crystal, 12, Teagan Kathleen, 10, and Quinn Ruth, 8.
Additionally, he left behind his beloved sister Katie Hewett of Skowhegan; two nephews Nicholas and Oliver Hewett; niece Molly Hewett; his parents; Darryl T. Vintinner, Sr of Clinton and Kathi Rancourt of Winslow & Holiday, Florida; his paternal grandmother; Ellen Spencer of Fairfield; his step-sister Tanya Lennon of Albion; his former wife, friend and mother of their children Jenna Vintinner; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, May 29th at 2 PM at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
The family requests that donations in DJ's memory be made by mail to: Operation ReBoot Outdoors, 887 Upper St., Turner, ME, 04282, or through their website at www.operationrebootoutdoors.org/donate.
