Darwin Wilton Allen, 72, of Comanche, Oklahoma, was born April 27, 1953 to Wilton Boyd and Almeta (Barnes) Allen. He completed his earthly journey and met his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 13, 2025, with his wife at his side.
He graduated from Marietta High School and in 1975 received a Bachelor's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. Darwin was the owner and operator of Wil-Mar Operations. He loved being outdoors and especially loved going to the lake with his family. He was most comfortable working outside with his equipment, woodworking, feeding cows, and just enjoying nature. He was also an avid reader. Darwin was a man of integrity and had a strong faith in God. He truly cared for people and was always there to help and support when he could. He had the biggest heart. He was a member of Gideons International.
Darwin married the love of his life, Brenda Bush, on August 6, 1976 in Durant, OK. He was always doing things to make Brenda's life better, easier and happy. But Darwin was the true source of Brenda's happiness. Forty-nine beautiful years together as best friends and confidants. He was her rock, the sense of stableness and peace, and always the safety monitor.
He supported his community by serving on the Empire Volunteer Fire Department as their training officer. He enjoyed being an OSU fire instructor, as well as occasional safety instructor through Red River Technology Center. He also served on the Oklahoma State Board of Fire Training and Curriculum.
Darwin is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Brenda; as well as extended family including Pearlene Barnes of Wilson, Melanie Barnett of Wilson, Keith and Melissa Barnes of Wilson, Alan and Jodi Barnes of Wilson, and Chris and Amanda Cicio of Durant, their children and grandchildren. Also included are Jake and Jamie Phipps of Duncan, Clayton Phipps of Duncan, Courtney Khodabakhsh of Mustang, and a host of other friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law.
There is no family visitation; however, viewing will be held on Sunday, November 16, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home.
