Daryl Lynn Chechel

Daryl Lynn Chechel, 42, of Holmdel, passed away at her home on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

She was born in Albany, NY and raised on Long Island. She graduated from Holmdel High School, and went on to study at Brookdale Community College, Virginia Wesleyan University and Penn State University. While working at Lowe's in Holmdel, she met the love of her life, Dennis, and they later married in Holmdel. Together, they spent eight years living in Virginia Beach, VA, before moving back to Holmdel.

Daryl was creative bright, and had a passion for creating and playing games. She and her husband began Rascal Games Studio, where they worked on various projects such as the card game "BLEEP!". She was also an avid reader, and a member of reading communities on Discord. Daryl was also fond of crafts, such as quilling, and making ribbon angels.

She will be remembered by her friends and loved ones for her wit, as well as being charming but blunt. She loved her cats, especially her orange tabby "Cheddar Cheeps", and enjoyed a good meal, particularly Swedish meatballs, poached fish, or leg of lamb.

Daryl is preceded in death by her father, Allan Filippi.

Surviving are her beloved husband, Dennis Chechel; her loving mother, Carol Filippi; and her beloved cat "Cheddar Cheeps".

Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733.

A Service will take place on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 11:00am at the Holmdel Funeral Home.
