Daryl and I were instant friends the moment we met. I was with some girls at Remington´s a local C&W dance club, on a Friday after work for Happy Hour. As I approached the bar, my friend, Paula, always first to any occasion; Daryl was talking to her. As the other ladies arrived, he sat with us and was a hoot. He and I played a couple of games of pool; of course, he won both games. We as a group invited him to go to another club to listen to one of my favorite bands and dance. He and I were dancing, and all at once he did the splits, and hopped up as quickly as he dropped down; this trick continued every time we went dancing. He was happily a lifetime member of our ladies´ group. Always a smile, a joke, and a blast to be around. Our friendship was so special. I had some acreage and without me knowing; he cleared it out for me; what a guy. He and Joey came to my house EARLY every Saturday and woke me and my daughters Sarah and Allison up. Joey had a huge crush on Allison, he was no older than eleven or twelve at the time. I was widowed, and Daryl was thirteen years younger than me. I know this might sound strange, but he was like a brother, and quickly became the protector of the girls and me. He was a country boy all the way around; and he sounded like a man from the foothills of Kentucky. I was blessed to meet Josh and Madison, when she was a tiny baby. I am so happy he met and married Glenda; he shared with me soon after they married, that Glenda was the one he had been praying, looking and waiting for. Joey and I have stayed close through the years. He calls me mom, and I call him son. We have many fond memories of both you and Joey. We loved you so much! Rest In Peace Our Precious Friend.
