He grew up in Montevideo, graduated from Montevideo High School in 1969 and attended Pipestone Masonry School. On June 17, 1972, Dave was united in marriage to Jackie Awe. They lived briefly in Montevideo before making their home in the Willmar community. Dave worked for Pederson Construction and WSW Construction prior to owning and operating Eagle Lake Masonry. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and the Local Masonry Union.
Dave and Jackie enjoyed lake life, living on Eagle Lake and later on Willmar Lake. They also enjoyed spending many winters in Harlingen, Texas. Dave's hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, attending the local car races and jigsaw puzzles.
Dave will be remembered for his honest hard-working work ethic. He took great pride in his masonry work, which is now continued by his son, Brian.
