Louis David Markl, known affectionately as Dave by his friends and loved ones, left this world on January 5th, 2026, at his dream home in Cape Coral, Florida. Born on November 16th, 1941, in Lebanon, Ohio, Dave's journey through life was marked by loyalty, love, and a spirited dedication to those he held dear.

Dave's unwavering commitment was most evident in his marriage to his beloved wife, Pat. Together for over two decades, they shared a bond so strong that they spent a mere two weeks apart during their entire union. His devotion to his family was the cornerstone of his life, and the love they shared was the envy of all who knew them.

A man of many talents and interests, Dave served his country with honor in the Army, instilling in him a sense of duty and patriotism that he carried throughout his life. His working years reflected a man who valued teamwork and camaraderie, as evidenced by his time as a school catcher.

Dave's passion for sports was undeniable. An ardent supporter of the Browns, the Reds, and his beloved Buckeyes, he left a wish for his family and friends to celebrate his life with a Buckeye party-a testament to his fun-loving spirit and dedication to his teams.

Dave would prepare a delicious turkey for his family. It was a time for family to gather, share stories, and enjoy the warmth of his generous hospitality. His loyalty to those he loved was a defining trait, one that earned him the nickname "Big Man" in his youth. He was a protector, a steadfast friend, and someone who could always be counted on.
