Dave Schnell

David "Dave" Howard Schnell, age 70, of New Lothrop, Michigan, died on January 21, 2025, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. He was born on February 13, 1954, to Walter and Irene (Gross) Schnell in Owosso, Michigan and graduated from New Lothrop High School with the Class of 1972. Dave owned and operated a successful dairy farm for many years and in 1999 he started his own business, Schnell's Services.
Dave was known as a "Jack of all trades" and was extremely outgoing. He made friends everywhere he went. He was always there to lend a helping hand and, in some instances, was known to give someone the shirt off his back, literally. He was hard-working, empathetic and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Left to cherish Dave's memory are his children, Eric (Jennifer) Schnell, Kevin (Maya) Schnell, Matt (Lindsay) Schnell; grandchildren, Blake, Alyssa, Bentley, Sophie, Layla, Jayde, Braxen, Izaria (Charles) Bearman; great grandchildren, Daisy and Atlas; siblings, Larry (Sue) Schnell, Marge Kline, Donald (Deborah) Schnell, Bob (Kathy) Schnell, Barb (Ken) Krupp; as well as many other loving family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joan; brother-in-law, Alan Kline; and sister-in-law, Barbara Kay Schnell.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 2PM – 7 PM at McGeehan Funeral Homes, New Lothrop Chapel, 9405 Butternut St., New Lothrop.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, 11 AM at New Lothrop Church of the Nazarene, 7406 Saginaw Street, New Lothrop. There will be visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery.
