David Holly Adams passed away on January 1, 2026, at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.
Dave was born on March 5, 1955, in Wheeling, West Virginia. He is the son of the late Mary Vasicko Adams and Holly Peter Adams.
He was predeceased in death by his parents and his beloved dogs, Stub, Zeb and Joey Lee.
Dave leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Holly Horbatak Adams; beloved dog, Toby; sister, Deborah Rusnak (Roger); niece, Heather Rusnak (Fiancé Ryan Daye); nephew, Adam Rusnak; sisters-in-laws, Carla Roberts (Chuck) and Amber Loughery; brother-in-law Dan Horbatak (Stacey); nieces, Summer Stewart and Mandi Reed (Jerry); nephews Nick Stewart, Wesley, Luke (Lindsay) and Dakota Loughery (Aryanna); 2 great nieces; 3 great nephews; and his life-long friend from 1st grade whom he spoke with every day, Richard Malena (Cindy),
Dave graduated in 1973 from Wheeling High School (WV), and West Virginia University in 1978. He was an oil lubricant specialist for 33 years and retired from Petro Choice. At which time he and his wife moved to Cape Charles, VA to continue his love of the Chesapeake Bay and boating.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at the American Legion Post 56 in Cheriton, Virginia. There will be a second celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Wheeling West Virginia, with a visitation at 9:30 AM, followed by Mass at 10:15AM. A luncheon at Wheeling Park, White Palace, will follow from 12:00 PM – 2:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Animal Control Eastern Shore, 18299 Killmontown Road, Melfa, Virginia 23410.
