David Lawrence Agar, age 81 of Clarkston, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024. He was born on January 5, 1943 in Pontiac, Michigan, one of twelve children, to parents Earl and Marjorie (Graham) Agar. David retired as a tool and die maker from GM after 30 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and collecting and reselling stamps. David was a dedicated and caring husband. He will be remembered for his sarcastic sense of humor and for his love for chewing bubblegum and eating Lays potato chips. David is survived by his wife, Patricia Vanderpool-Agar; children: Matthew (Julie) Agar and Anita Agar; granddaughter, Jessica (Sam) Daleo; great grandchildren: LJ and Juliana; and brother, Mark (Gayle) Agar. Also surviving are his stepchildren: Johnny Vanderpool, Kimberly Wagner, Jeffrey Vanderpool, April Meraglia, Jeanette Vanderpool, and Mark (Debbie) Wolfe; step-granddaughter, Krystal Wolfe; three step-great grandchildren who he helped raise: Lexi, Dillon, and Dominic; and several other step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents, 10 siblings, and stepdaughter, Karen Wolfe. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, March 1, 2024 at COATS FUNERAL HOME – WATERFORD. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, beginning at noon on Friday.
