Joan B. Leavy (nee Stasilowicz), age 92, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, in Waterford, Michigan.
Joan was born on August 16, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella Stasilowicz. Joan lived a full and spirited life marked by dedication to her family, faith, and passions. She worked as a legal secretary until the age of 75, demonstrating remarkable commitment and professionalism throughout her long career.
A devoted Catholic, Joan was an active member of both St. Bede Parish and Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. Her faith was a guiding force in her life and a source of strength and comfort to those around her.
Joan had a deep love for the arts, especially musicals, which brought her great joy over the years. She also enjoyed spending time on the golf course and found happiness in cooking for those she loved. Her vibrant personality and loving spirit touched all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter Bridget Mohr (David); grandchildren Derek Mohr (Nicole Busch), Alyssa Mohr (Ethan Rickelmann), and Connor Mohr. She was preceded in death by her son Brian J. Leavy Jr. and brother Norman J. Stasilowicz.
May Joan's memory bring comfort to those who knew her. A Memorial Mass will be held on July 11, 2025, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 5461 Dixie Highway, Waterford, Michigan, at 10AM, with an memorial visitation from 9:30AM until the time of mass.
