David Bruce Alger, 68, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, in Chillicothe, Missouri. Born on February 13, 1957, David's life was a tapestry woven with deep connections to family and the quiet strength of enduring love.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Edna Jean McConville, whose partnership with David stood as a testament to shared devotion and resilience. Together they nurtured a blended family that reflects the richness of their lives: children, Chris and Melody Alger, Leanne O'Day, Ronnie, Stacey, and John McConville. Each child carries forward a part of David's spirit his presence echoing in their stories and memories.
David was also a proud grandfather to Cody and Maggie McConville, Zac and Karissa Zumwalt, Hakeem Abdullahi, Naomi Niffang, Omar Abdullahi, Faith O'Day, Austin McConville, and Jakob Zumwalt. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Theo Zumwalt and Oliver McConville, young lives touched by the warmth of his love.
He shared lifelong bonds with his brothers, Don Burke, Larry Alger, and Mike Alger. These relationships were forged in childhood laughter and carried through the years with loyalty and affection.
He now joins in rest his father, James Alger; mother, Doris Alger; brother, Bobby Alger; and beloved grandson, Jonathon McConville.
David's generosity extended beyond this life he was an organ donor. In this final act of giving, he offered hope to others even as he departed this world.
To honor David's memory and celebrate his life in the way he would have cherished most surrounded by loved ones sharing stories over good food. A family BBQ will be held on April 5, 2025.
Though words cannot fully capture the depth of a life lived or the sorrow left behind in its absence, may David Bruce Alger's memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
