David Ralph “Coach” Allen Jr, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, surrounded by his family, at the age of 80.
He had been married to the love of his life, Robin, for almost 60 years, who he loved and protected fiercely. His life was spent doing the things he loved – hunting, fishing, coaching rec baseball, and being in his workshop. He took great pride in being the protector of his family, handing down his skills and his heritage, and being on the sidelines to support his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren at their sporting events.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, David Ralph Allen Sr and Rita Martinez Allen and his brother, Nathan Fabian Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Robin and his children and their spouses, Tracy and Roger Rosine, David III and Kathy Allen, and Jeremy and Janell Allen. His legacy continues with his grandchildren Ryan, Katie, David IV, Madison, and Wyatt and his great-grandchildren Lane, Kimber, and Magnolia Jo.
He is also survived by his extended family, bonus son, Lewis Allen, step-grandsons Chad and Nathan Rosine, step-great-grandchildren, Bailey, Nathan Jr, Bella, Carson, Jalynn and Josie, his brothers and sisters, Sharon and Wilfred Barry, Leo and Sherry Allen, Beth Allen, Felix and Jan Allen, Jeanell and Ronnie Weems, Jerry and Pete Comer, Dale and Heather Allen and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at SAAD’s for the excellent care, love, and compassion that they have shown Ralph and his entire family during this season. We specifically want to thank Shannon, Caitlyn and Ciara. Mr. Allen adored them and always looked forward to their visits.
Visitation will be at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs on Friday, August 29, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will occur at St Alphonsus Catholic Church on Saturday, August 30 at 11:00 a.m. The family would like everyone to join them for food and fellowship in the Knights of Columbus Hall following the service.
