David R. Anderson, age 84, of Conway, passed away Feb. 5, 2026. He was born Dec. 19, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, to Herbert C. Anderson and Katherine Watkins Anderson.
David joined the United States Air Force in 1960 right out of High School. He worked in weather forecasting for the military and served a tour in Vietnam in 1970. He served a 24 year career until retirement in 1984, ranking Chief Master Sergeant. Once retired, he attended the University of Central Arkansas where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism in 1998.
David is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Tracy Kaufold and Paul Douglas Anderson; grandchildren, Hunter Kaufold, and Cheyenne, Riley, and Skylar Anderson; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by step-sons, Lewis Mathews, Jr., Heath Mathews, Paul Mathews, to which he is known as "Super Dave;" six step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren, whom he loved as his own.
