David James Asselin III

David James Asselin III, 22, cherished son, brother, and grandson passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Thursday, October 16, 2025. He was born February 21, 2003, in Port Huron to proud parents David and Colleen Asselin.
David was a 2021 graduate of Yale High School. He was employed at Utility Lines Construction in the Operator/Electrical Maintenance Journeyman Apprenticeship program. He really enjoyed learning the trade and had developed a great rapport with all his coworkers.
David enjoyed fishing, camping, building computers, gaming, impromptu road trips, riding dirt bikes with his dad, and hanging out with his best friend, Roberto. David was very kind, witty, and funny. He was always joking around and had the best laugh. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
David is survived by his father and mother, David and Colleen Asselin; sisters, Morgan (Josh Tatman) Asselin and Ava (Rocco Calozzo) Asselin; grandparents, David and Michelle Asselin; aunt and uncle, Deanna and Brett Lester; aunt, Tricia Woolner; his cousins, Ross (Brittany), Natalie, Claire, Barry, Daniel; and his very dear best friend, Roberto Macias. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Margaret Ann Johnson aka Grandma Abby.
A celebration of David's life will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center, 4521 Ravenswood Road, Kimball, MI 48074. A memorial service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Reverend Dr. G. Patrick Thompson will officiate.
