David Atkins Obituary
David Landrum Atkins, age 81, passed away at his home on Friday, January 09, 2026 following a sudden decline in health.
Born in Rutherford County, NC; David spent his working years as a fixer in the local textile industry. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, working on his tractors and tinkering with anything mechanical.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Marie Taylor Atkins; his parents, Claude and Alda Toms Atkins; siblings, Albert Atkins, Robert Atkins, and Doris Robinson.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Marsha White and her husband Keith; one sister, Glennette Thompson and a number of other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of David's love of cats and dogs the family requests that memorials be made to your local animal rescue organization or local animal shelter.
In keeping with his wishes no formal service will be held. He will be laid to rest in Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Forest City, NC.Online condolences may be made at www.crowemortuary.com. Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the family of David Atkins
