David Alan Baggett

Mr. David Alan "Dogg." Baggett, age 65, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Sunday morning, December 21, 2025, at Hamilton Medical Center.

David was born September 8, 1960, in Dalton, Georgia. He was retired from Engineered Floors, Inc. Above all else, David cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a loyal friend to many.

Known by everyone as a big "cut-up," David loved to joke, laugh, and have a good time. His nick name was Dogg. And he would say "D-O-G-G Period." He had a way of making people smile, and he never met a stranger-everybody liked David. His easygoing nature and warm personality left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

David's love story with his wife, Kathy, began while they were both working at Mohawk. While Kathy operated a tufting machine and David worked on the coater, he couldn't help but admire her-often "spying" on her from afar. What started as playful interest soon turned into true love, and they were united in marriage on April 24, 1998. Their marriage was filled with laughter, companionship, and devotion.

David was preceded in death by his father, John Paul Baggett; mother, Ruby Jean Moore Baggett; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and James Dryman; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Flora Brown and Herbert Charles.

Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy Charles Baggett of the residence; sons, Jacob Baggett of Sellersburg, Indiana, Anthony Baggett, and Kendall and Tara Roberts, all of Dalton, Georgia; daughter, Amy and Jason Dryman of Dalton, Georgia; grandchildren, David Baggett, Ryan Baggett, Emily Baggett, Collin Baggett, Levi Cronan, and Cully Roberts; brother-in-law, Ralph and Dawn Charles of Calhoun, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. David Alan Baggett will be held Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel, with Reverend Chris Corbin officiating. He will be laid to rest at Little Prospect Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers honored to serve include Levi Cronan, Anthony Baggett, Jason Dryman, Cully Roberts, Kendall Roberts, Matthew Morgan, and Jacob Baggett.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour.
