David Balestri Obituary
He was born Aug. 25, 1952 in Litchfield IL to Aerio and Mabel (Kerley) Balestri.
He was a graduate 1971 of Hillsboro High School. He was an over the road truck driver and had worked as a correctional officer in Statesville and Vandalia and at ASARCO in Hillsboro.
He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and past member of the St. Agnes K of C. He loved the outdoors including yard work and fishing. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Blanchard, children Stephen (Kim) Balestri of Springfield, Elijah Balestri of Canton, Gailon Balestri Springfield, Gavin (Jennifer) Balestri of Litchfield, Step children Rita Skipton of Iowa, Crystal (Don) Grimes of Florida, Nikki (Mike) Cummins of Kansas, Mahlon Richardson of Iowa and Pamela (Keith) Smith of Witt, 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step father Tom Holt and two greta-grandsons and one great grand-daughter.
Memorials can be directed to American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
Funeral services will be Thursday Aug. 25, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Fr. Dan Willenborg officiating, visitation will be Thursday at 11:00 AM until service time.
Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Hillsboro.
Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is charge of arrangements.
