David G. Baltus, 78, Auburndale, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Marshfield Medical Center surrounded by family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 7, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Auburndale with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of service. Father Angi will officiate. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
David was born on February 1, 1947 to Arsenius "Seni" and Elizabeth "Betty" (Aschenbrenner) Baltus. He graduated from Auburndale High School in 1965.
David was united in marriage to Sharon Tyrolt on May 3, 1969, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburndale. She passed away on May 25, 2008.
David worked at the papermills in Port Edwards and Nekoosa.
He was a dedicated community member and active participant in the Lions Club. He was instrumental in the operations of concessions at the Auburndale Park & Auburndale Music Fest, a role he took great pride in. David enjoyed frequent trips to the casino and attending Hodag Country Fest. A passionate sports fan, he never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite teams - especially Notre Dame, as well as the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers.
He is survived by his children, Rebecca (Craig) Bredl of Eau Claire and Christopher (Colleen) Baltus of Marshfield; and grandchildren, Chase, Reese, and Avery Bredl, Charley Baltus, and another grandson on the way.
He is further survived by his siblings, Stephen (Judie) Baltus, Gloria Matticks, Michael (Sally) Baltus, Cynthia (Ted) Drescher, Marcia (Clarion) Kolbeck, and Mark (Brenda) Baltus, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and, brother in law, Mike Binder.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (give.michaeljfox.org).
