David Bamberger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carson-Wall Funeral Home - Parsons on Mar. 5, 2026.
David W. Bamberger Jr., 81, of Parsons, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. He is now at rest with our Lord.

He was born July 9, 1944 at Lebanon, Pennsylvania, a son of David, Sr. and Charlotte (Reedy) Bamberger. He grew up and attended school at Williamsport, Pennsylvania and then served in the United States Marine Corps. Upon his discharge, he returned to Williamsport and attended Lycoming College. He later received a Master's in Business Administration. In July 1966 he was united in marriage to Donna Mae Wurster at Williamsport, Pennsylvania. They had twin daughters that he loved dearly. They later divorced. David worked in accounting in Williamsport and was later transferred to Long Island, NY in the 1990s. He loved the outdoors of Pennsylvania and often enjoyed deer and turkey hunting with his brother in-law and father in- law. In his retirement he moved to Parsons in the early 2000s to be with his daughter and son in-law. He enjoyed his move to Kansas and was often heard telling family members back in Pennsylvania that "the people are very friendly here, not like anywhere else I have ever lived". He was very generous with his time and enjoyed helping with the family ranching operation. David's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren attending sporting and school events and beach trips to Hilton Head Island. He was the best Pappy ever.

He was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church at Williamsport and transferred his membership to St. John's Episcopal Church upon moving to Parsons. He was a member of the American Legion, enjoyed hunting and collecting coins and stamps.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons in -law – Senta and Brad Meister, Parsons, Kansas, Monica and Patrick Ganter, Hardeeville, South Carolina; four grandchildren – Ethan Ganter, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Gavin Ganter, Hardeeville, South Carolina, Alex David Meister, Springfield, Missouri, Sidni Meister, Tampa, Florida. He was preceded in death by his sister – Shirley Ann (Bamberger) Rohm on October 23, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 6:30 P.M., Saturday, May 9, 2026 at St. John's Episcopal Church with Fr. Kelley J. Lackey, II. officiating. Burial will be held later in the summer on the family lot in the Green Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery at Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
