David Banks, 70, of Moravia, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Ia.
Dave was born on March 13,1955, to Donald and Y- Vonne (Conner) Banks in Nevada, Iowa. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1973. Shortly after graduating Dave started working at Fisher Controls in Marshalltown. He retired from Fisher Controls on April 1, 2010. He married his high school sweetheart, Carol Newman, in 1974. Dave and Carol had 2 sons, Joe, and Jamie. They remained married until Carol passed away on March 6, 2000.
Dave enjoyed coaching his sons baseball teams while they were growing up. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, arrowhead collecting, and playing cribbage with friends and family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Joe and Jamie, his daughter-in-law Heather (Joe), his granddaughter Josey, and brothers Ed (Sharon) Banks, and Ben (JoAnne) Banks
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carol, and his brother Sam.
Dave's family will honor him with a private service.
Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Dave.
