Larry John Clatt Sr.

Larry J Clatt, Sr., age 84, lifelong resident of Colo, Iowa, passed away peacefully in his home on December 12, 2025.
Born on June 10, 1941, in State Center, Iowa. Larry was the son of Arthur and Ethel Clatt. From his early years in a close-knit family, he embraced the values of hard work and service-principles that guided him throughout his life.
Larry dedicated himself to serving others with humility and strength. For 25 years, he volunteered as a fireman, offering his time and energy to protect and support his community. His steadfast commitment reflected a deep sense of duty and compassion that left a lasting impression on those around him. Even though he had many accomplishments in his lifetime, his greatest accomplishment and blessing was his family.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sandra Clatt; his children: Larry Clatt Jr. (Sue), Michelle Doty (Dave), Dennis Clatt (LuAnn), Patricia Robinson (Kurt), and Bruce Clatt; and his brother Charlie Clatt (Sue). His 13 grandchildren, Christopher (Júlia), Maggie (Ryan), Shawn (Kaela), Sydney (Laura), Kara (Zach), Ryan (Laurel), Tanner (Rylie), Tyler Clatt, Kassie (Cody), Jacob (Kenadie), Brighton, Josh, Breckin also commemorate him, as well as his 7 great-grandchildren, Avery, Emma, Paisley, Porter, Kambren, Koven, and Logan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ethel Clatt; his brothers Ron Clatt and Mark Clatt; and his sister Mary Heiken.
A visitation will be held on December 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home, 1418 Fawcett Parkway, Nevada, Iowa. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM at the same location.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Colo Fire and Rescue, 302 Bailey Street, P.O. Box 155, Colo, Iowa 50056.
