David F. Barki of New Windsor, New York, originally from Newburgh, NY, passed away January 5, 2023 with his family by his side.
David was born on June 17, 1955 to Kathleen and John J. Barki Jr., whom both predeceased him. David shared a kind, loving relationship with his parents and siblings; John J. Barki III (Pat), Robert W. Barki, Kathryn DeBasio, and Trish B. Manuele (Frank).
David was our brother; our best friend.
David attended St. Patrick's school, graduated from North Junior High and Newburgh Free Academy class of 1974.
David was an avid sportsman. He was a life member of the Black Rock Fish & Game club of Cornwall, and a member of Orange Lake Fish & Game club. A member of United Commercial Travelers, a member of the Harriman Anglers, an avid 3D archer, kayaking at Plum Point and Winding Hills park. He enjoyed hiking and walking his dog. A volunteer at the Hudson Valley ASPCA, a boy scout in his youth, David's love of animals and the outdoors was apparent in his daily life.
David is survived by his siblings, his nephews; John J. Barki IV, and Andrew DeBasio, Nieces; Julie Chopin and Lauren DeBasio Nightingale, his great nieces, his great nephew, his loving dog Dusty and his cat Kitlyn.
David was a friend to many, always willing to lend a hand. He took care of us and gave from his heart. Thank you David for everything. You are loved and will be greatly missed.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 11 at 11:00 AM at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
