David Barrientes Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 26, 2025.
David Barrientes, 65, of Maxwell, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on September 23, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. We rejoice in knowing he is now in the presence of Jesus, resting in eternal peace.

He was born on August 26, 1960, in Rensselaer, Indiana, to David L. and Amparo Barrientes. David was a devoted husband and a loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, brother, brother-in-law, and friend. His kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication to his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Lucy Barrientes; his children, David Delgado, Priscilla Ramirez and her husband Ray Ramirez, and Zachary Barrientes and his wife Rachel Nicole Barrientes. He was a proud and loving grandfather to six grandchildren: Madison Paige Rand and her husband Jesse Daniel-Kalani Rand and Scarlett Marisol Delgado; Kingston Ray Ramirez and Kinsley Gray Ramirez; and Kennedy Ann Barrientes and Brooks Ophelia Barrientes.

He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, David L. and Amparo Barrientes, and father-in-law, Pedro Delgado. His mother-in-law, Amelia Delgado, survives him.

David will be remembered for the deep love he held for his family, his strong work ethic, and the joy he found in life's simplest moments. He especially enjoyed fishing and looked forward to trips to the casino, where he could relax and have fun with family and friends. Whether sharing stories around the table, attending family gatherings, or spending time outdoors, his presence brought warmth, comfort, and strength.

In his final moments, surrounded by his beloved family, David expressed his love one last time, saying, "Thank you all for being here. I love you all so much." With peace in his heart and love on his lips, he said he was ready to go at sunset - a fitting farewell for a man who brought light to so many lives.

Though he is no longer with us in body, we find peace knowing that David has entered into his eternal home, embraced by God's love. His faith was a quiet but steady part of his life, and now he rests in the everlasting arms of his Savior.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

– Psalm 34:18
